The club are yet to officially elaborate on the reasons for his dismissal.
In a shocking turn of events, the I-League club TRAU FC have sacked their head coach Dimitris Dimitriou. Interestingly, the Tiddim Road Athletic Union, that is widely known as TRAU FC are currently placed in the third spot in the points table. They are tied in terms of points with the second-placed Minerva Punjab, and have won four out of their nine matches in the league so far. The club made this decision known through their social media platforms. On their official Facebook page, the statement was, “TRAU FC sacks coach Dimitris Dimitriou. Reason for his ouster will be made public after thorough investigation.” [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] [embed]https://www.facebook.com/officialtraufc/posts/3341627225853087[/embed]The club made the announcement on social media on Sunday
Quite peculiarly, this is the second time that Dimitriou has been relieved of his duties from the club in the span of last few months. He was replaced by Douglas Silva on October 23rd. However, Silva managed to stay onto his job only for a couple of matches before Dimitriou was brought back to assume the responsibility once again. [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="RELATED NEWS | ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] Such a vague explanation by the club authorities is bound to generate some rightful doubts in the minds of the followers of the club; especially, at a point in time when they were in a positive run of form with four successive victories this month. Their previous win was against Aizwal FC on January 25th, after which this move has seemed to transpire. However, the official admin surely dropped a major hint with one of the comments made through the account on Facebook:Match-fixing the reason for the sack?
TRAU FC was the champions of the second division of the I-League last season and seemed to be mounting a credible challenge in the tournament ever since Dimitriou took over the charge once again, earlier this month. However, what unfolds furthermore for the club, their now former manager and the intricacies behind this rather hasty call would only become clearer as time progresses.Latest News
