Bikash Yumnam signs contract extension at RoundGlass Punjab FC
The 17-year-old made nine appearances for Indian Arrows in the I-League last season.
RoundGlass Punjab FC have announced that Bikash Yumnam, who has already made headlines globally by being shortlisted among the top 60 young talents in the world by leading British daily, The Guardian, has renewed his contract with the Club. Under the renewed contract, Bikash will remain with the I-League club till the end of 2023.
The renewal of the young defender’s contract will no doubt serve to encourage other young talents in the Club. Bikash has already been tagged as one of the best young defenders in the country and Round Glass Punjab FC is excited to continue having him on board.
Bikash Yumnam shared his excitement on the contract renewal, saying: “The Club has a great vision, the coaches and the officials are fantastic. I want to become a better player and contribute to my team to reach greater heights.”
Head coach Curtis Fleming expressed his happiness about this move, as he said, “This move shows our intent very clearly—our eyes are on the future. Bikash is a promising young player and I hope he will keep working hard to do justice to his talent. It’s still the early days of his career and he has a long way to go. I am really happy.”
