Sudeva Delhi FC: I-League debutants reveal new name, logo
The club will participate in the country's second-tier from the 2020-21 season onward.
I-League newcomers Sudeva FC have rebranded and changed their name to Sudeva Delhi FC ahead of their debut campaign. The rebranding was made in presence of Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Shri. Manish Sisodiya. The club gained a direct entry into the league earlier in August this year. The club has participated in Delhi's senior division league as well as the Hero 2nd Division League in the past.
Owner Anuj Gupta revealed the new name of the club by making it official from his social media. “Deputy CM and Education Minister of Delhi, Mr. Manish Sisodia launches Sudeva FC new logo and name as 'Sudeva Delhi FC' in Delhi.”
Meanwhile, Sudeva Delhi FC have appointed Bhutanese coach Chencho Dorji at the helm and have also decided to play with an all-Indian squad for the upcoming season. The club has signed experienced winger Kean Lewis as well as former Indian Arrows striker Manvir Singh. They have also roped in young striker Ayush Chhikara on loan from Mumbai City FC.

Ayush has plied his trade in the MDFA league as well as 2nd Division League last season. However, the league came to an abrupt end due to the COVID-19 pandemic last season. Looking at the current squad of the Delhi-based side, they have a mixture of young and experienced players who would be ready to prove themselves as and when called up.
The upcoming edition of the I-League will be played in West Bengal as a precautionary measure due to the pandemic and over the course of the tournament, all the members of all the participating teams will be staying in a bio bubble. The recently concluded I-League Qualifiers were also played in West Bengal with strict bio bubble measures and Mohammedan Sporting came emerged as winners, thus gaining promotion to the I-League.
