After a defeat against Kerala the Brazilian wants to focus on the next match against Delhi Dynamos…
After FC Goa lost 1-2 to rejuvenated Kerala Blasters at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, manager Zico was disappointed at the post-match media interaction as this was their 4th defeat in the league. “Our team is not what we want yet. We have a lot to work on and make things we want to improve. Don’t make comparison between this year’s teams and last year’s teams. We cannot make a comparison,” the Brazilian tactician said. Blasters played a defensive game in the first half and to the surprise of many they came out more attacking from the start of the second half and scored two goals. But Zicosaid he wasn’t surprised by the way his opponents played. “I was not surprised with the way they played in the second half as they had more time to recover from the last match than us, that was the game that I was expecting from them but it was not the reason why we lost.” The Brazilian coach made a shocking substitution halftime as Lucio came in for Jofre. “The substitution was because of injury. Jofre felt something in his leg and he didn’t want to take any risk. So I did not have any other player to replace him apart from Lucio,” he explained. The Brazilian coach wants to be well prepared for the next match and win it as he wants to start the second phase of the league with at least seven points. He also apologized to the fans for not meeting their expectations and suggested that the best is yet to come from them. “I want to apologize to the fans that we couldn’t get the best result. We still have matches and if we win some matches then we can put our minds on things ahead of us. This is not the time to plan anything. We have to see how the players react,” he signed off.
