The Chennaiyin FC assistant coach said his boss has a strategy for Delhi Dynamos...

Chennaiyin will look to avenge their 3-1 defeat earlier in the season when they take on Delhi Dynamos FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday. Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Chennaiyin FC assistant coach Sabir Pasha hinted that the Super Machans were ready to make it even against the Lions. “The strategy is left to the head coach [Marco Materazzi]. They are a confident team and they did well against us in the home match but Marco has a strategy for the game against Delhi tomorrow. Every day is different. We may have a different team and not like the last time, and also a different strategy. But it is going to be a tough match for us, no doubt about that and I think we are well prepared for that,” Pasha said. “An away game is a different ball game, so naturally the strategy will be different and we will be executing his mindset [Materazzi's] in today's training and we will see that we execute it on the field as well.” The defending champions have been one of the most consistent teams in the Hero ISL, and presently they have 10 points from seven matches. When asked if their big-match experience will stand in good stead in the second half of the league stage, Pasha said: “See, all the players are big players, playing at the highest level and we cannot say it is a big match or small match but we cannot rest on our past achievements, and our playing in the final or semis will not count for so much. No doubt we have achieved some level but the teams which are on the lower level will be hungrier than us and I think it will be a good game as both team have experienced players.” Chennaiyin, however, have drawn all of their last three matches, and Pasha insisted that they needed to work on their defending to break that streak. “See, we have been leading in all the matches and the only question is how we defend in the last moments and we were really unfortunate to lose those points, and I think we are defending properly. In those last few minutes we are slackening a bit, so I think if we can take care of that we will turn out as winners. There is no doubt about that,” he said. Star striker Jeje Lalpekhlua also accompanied Pasha to the press conference and when asked if he was missing Stiven Mendoza, who played a huge role in Chennaiyin's title triumph last season with 13 goals, the Indian striker said: “Not only Mendoza but I miss Elano also but I think we still have a very good team and we are good enough to defend the title but we need to work hard and every match is important for us right now.” [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]Report and Photo © ISL Media
