The Indian U20 women are set to find their opponents in the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup on Monday, as the final draw will be held in Bangkok, Thailand. In a historic feat, the Indian U20 Women have qualified for the tournament after nearly two decades.
Joakim Alexandersson will lead the team in the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup, which is scheduled to take place next year from April 1 to 18. India also have the opportunity to script history as the top four teams from the tournament will qualify for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
India in Pot 4

12 teams have been placed into four pots before the draw for the group stage. The Young Tigresses find themselves in Pot 4 with teams like Jordan and Bangladesh. The pot allocations for the Final Draw are based on seedings derived from the team’s final rankings across the previous three editions of the finals.
The points from edition weighted progressively as follows: 100% of ranking points for the latest edition (2024), 50% of ranking points for the second-last edition (2019) and 25% of ranking points for the third-last edition (2017).
