Ashley Westwood names 23-member Afghanistan squad for India games in World Cup Qualifiers

The squad has plenty of individuals who can hurt India’s hopes of World Cup qualification.
Afghanistan men’s football team’s squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Round 2 clash against India has been revealed. The Group A contest is set to take place on 21 March 2024 in Abha, Saudi Arabia. The second meeting between the two national teams is set for 26 March 2024 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati, Assam.
India have one win and one defeat in Group A and will back themselves to secure two wins in the upcoming two fixtures against an Afghanistan side which will be punching above its weight. The head coach of the Lions of Khorasan has picked an ambitious squad which has plenty of individuals plying their trade in Europe’s lower divisions.
Eyes will be on the likes of Zohib Islam Amiri, Omid Musawi, Balal Arezou and more who hold experience and can hurt India if given a chance.
