ISL, IWL Long Tender Update LIVE: Technical bids opened at 11 AM; FanCode, Genius Sports & Capri Sports in contention

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) will officially open the bidding process for the long-term commercial rights of the Indian Super League (ISL) and Indian Women’s League (IWL) on March 27. The technical bids are scheduled to open at 11 AM, followed by the commercial bids at 5 PM.
Early indications suggest strong but contrasting interest from three major players. Genius Sports and FanCode have submitted bids for the ISL-focused 15+5-year cycle, while Capri Sports has primarily targeted the IWL structure.
The current cycle provides important context. FanCode secured ISL 2025–26 media rights with a ₹8.62 crore bid, including ₹8.52 crore for digital and ₹10 lakh for linear TV. Meanwhile, KPS Studio won production rights for ₹5.22 crore, leaving AIFF with an effective net revenue of around ₹3.4 crore.

Package details
AIFF has structured the tender into two distinct packages to streamline commercial opportunities across both men’s and women’s football.
Package details of commercial rights
AIFF has divided the tender into two major packages to streamline the process.
Package A – Club Competitions (Men)
Commercial Rights relating to the following men’s club competitions owned, organized and/or sanctioned by the AIFF:
- Indian Super League (or the seniormost men’s professional football league competition, as it may be known).
- Federation Cup (or the senior most cup competitions for professional men’s football clubs).
Package B – Club Competitions (Women)
Commercial Rights relating to the following women’s club competitions owned, organized and/or sanctioned by the AIFF:
- Indian Women’s League (or the seniormost women’s professional football league competition, as it may be known).
- Indian Women’s League 2 (or the second division of women’s professional football league competition, as it may be known). Capri Sports’ targeted interest in this package highlights growing investor attention in the women’s game.
Beyond media rights, the tender encompasses a wide commercial spectrum, including digital assets, data distribution, sponsorships, and event-linked opportunities. AIFF has also enforced strict eligibility norms, requiring companies to purchase the ₹2.5 lakh Request for Proposal (RFP) and submit bids independently without affiliate transfers.
With the bids now set to be evaluated, AIFF faces a defining decision. Whether it opts for a unified commercial partner or splits rights across packages, the outcome will determine how Indian football is marketed, monetised, and developed over the next two decades.
