India will participate in the tournament after 21 years

The Final Draw for the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026 is set to be held on February 12 at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, with fans able to watch it live on the AFC Asian Cup YouTube Channel from 12:30 IST.

The 10th edition of the tournament will bring together 12 teams, split into three groups of four. India is one of the eight teams that earned their place through the qualifiers, alongside hosts China PR and the four AFC sides that qualified automatically after reaching the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025.

The Young Tigresses head into the big stage full of confidence, fresh off their SAFF U19 Women’s Championship triumph in Nepal under newly appointed head coach Pamela Conti.

India in Pot 3

India booked their place in the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup after 21 years by topping Group G in the October 2025 qualifiers, finishing ahead of Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan.

The tournament will be played from May 1 to 17. India is placed in Pot 3 for the Final Draw and will face one team each from the other pots, either China PR, DPR Korea or Japan; Korea Republic, Thailand or Australia; and Chinese Taipei, Myanmar or Lebanon.

Hosts China PR will be the top seed and occupy position A1.

The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed sides, will move into the quarterfinals. The four semi-finalists will qualify for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026.
