Deportivo Sol de Mayo secure services of Indian defender Abneet Bharti on loan
Abneet Bharti shifted his focus to Argentina on loan from FK Varnsdorf.
Indian defender Abneet Bharti sealed a loan move to Argentine club Deportivo Sol de Mayo, with Czech club FK Varnsdorf having loaned out the 26-year-old.
Following the completion of his move to the Argentine side, club president Adnan Valdebenito and general manager Marcelo Jorquera had words of praise for the defender, who recently signed a new deal at Varnsdorf before being loaned out.
Bharti had a loan stint at Kyrgyzstan-based club FC Talant before returning to the Czech second-division side.But he is now set for a new adventure in a new continent, as he holds the Indian flag high.Abneet Bharti adapting ‘very well’ in Argentina.
Valdebenito, the current president at Deportivo Sol de Mayo, played a key role in the signing and he exclusively told KhelNow about how the defender is settling into life in a new country.
He says: “He is adapting very well to Argentinean football. It’s a difficult level to get promoted, it’s not easy to play in Argentina, but he is doing very well in all aspects and is adapting well.”
Valdebenito also revealed that Bharti is likely to end up playing regularly for the club’s first team soon, having played one game for the Argentine third-division side. “He is always in the squad and has got minutes and we hope that he continues to evolve and adapt as he has been doing because very soon we hope to have him end up starting 11.”
The 26-year-old arrived at the club three weeks ago and apart from playing in the opening game of the campaign, he also featured this past weekend. Valdebenito has stated that the player is taking good care of his body, as he steps up his acclimatization to the first team.
After all, being physically fit is a key requirement in Argentine football and Abneet is matching those standards, as he continues to settle in. “He has many similarities to a player to an Argentinean player, we are very happy with him, for sure he will be in the starting 11 very soon, it has been in the adaptation period, Argentinean leagues are known to be very intense and physically hard in comparison to other leagues in the world.”
Club general director Marcelo Jorquera, who also runs an academy in Perth, Australia and works as a scout and consultant for many clubs, also had positive words for the player.
“He takes care of his body. We all know the body is the weapon for all professional players. He trains very well, he has a very good technical ability and great heading in the air and a great passing range.”
Bharti was on the bench in two games and judging from the comments from the club higher-ups, he could soon break into the first team and become a regular.
