I-League 2023-24: Inter Kashi grab a fascinating win over TRAU FC
Inter Kashi remains in the fifth spot with 30 points in the I-league table.
Inter Kashi returned to winning ways after a gap of one match in the I-League 2023-24 when they registered a commanding 6-3 victory over bottom team TRAU FC at the Kalyani Municipality Stadium, today, on Friday, March 8, 2024. The winners led 2-1 at halftime.
Gyamar Nikum (12’), M. Ajsal (26’, 55’), J. Lamela (78’), Mohammed Asif (90’), and Dos Santos (90 +8’) scored the goals for Inter Kashi. Meanwhile, TRAU FC managed to find the net through Jakhonov (43’, penalty) and Seidu Nuhu, who struck twice in the 63rd and 85th minutes.
The win helped Inter Kashi maintain their fifth position in the standings with 30 points. while TRAU FC suffered their fourth consecutive defeat. The threat of relegation now looms large on their head as they are languishing at the bottom of the 13-team table with only seven points.
The first half saw Inter Kashi leading 2-1, but floodgates opened the second session as six more goals came in the last 45 minutes. While Ajsal struck again in the 55th minute, extending Inter Kashi’s lead to 3-1, TRAU FC responded with Ghanaian striker Nuhu’s goal in the 63rd minute.
Thereafter Spanish midfielder Lamela scored for Inter Kashi in the 78th minute, followed by another Nuhu strike in the 85th minute for TRAU. Asif and Dos Santos pumped in two more for Inter Kashi in the 90th and 90+8thminute, respectively, to complete the rout.
