Inter Kashi-Namdhari FC case enters endgame following final AIFF Appeals Committee hearing

The decision from this hearing can crown the new I-League champions.
The ongoing dispute surrounding the I-League clash between Inter Kashi and Namdhari FC has reached its final stages, with the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Appeals Committee expected to deliver the final verdict within the next 24 hours. The committee concluded hearings on Friday, after listening to the final arguments presented by both clubs.
The case stems from a contentious match between Namdhari FC and Inter Kashi that holds major implications for the final league standings and potentially who will win the I-League title. Both Inter Kashi and Namdhari FC made their respective cases before the AIFF Appeals Committee, hoping to sway the decision in their favour.
While the details of the arguments remain confidential, sources close to the matter indicate that a final resolution will be attained soon.
Churchill Brothers FC and Real Kashmir FC intervene to present their case
Another significant development from the hearing was that legal representatives from two other I-League clubs, Churchill Brothers FC and Real Kashmir FC, also filed interventions and were allowed to present their perspectives. The inclusion of two other title-contending teams added further weight to the case, with both Churchill and Real Kashmir directly affected by the final decision.
Churchill Brothers have formally requested that the AIFF not delay the crowning of the champions any further. They also requested that the club be announced officially as the 2024-25 I-League champions. The argument from the Goan club hinges on the assumption that the original result stands and does not impact their position at the top of the table.
Meanwhile, Real Kashmir FC have argued that clarity is essential as any further delay will see them incur financial trouble. They presented that they need to process player bonuses and distribute prize money accordingly, ahead of next season.
Will Inter Kashi win the title?

The AIFF Appeals Committee now faces the challenging task of evaluating the arguments from all four parties involved. With the I-League season concluded on the field, all eyes are now on the governing body to bring closure to this complex yet challenging matter.
However, the decision, once announced, will not only finalise the league standings but also determine whether Inter Kashi are crowned champions and promoted to the ISL.
