Indian Football Transfer Roundup: NorthEast bring former Wolves forward to India

The Indian clubs have been busy in the January transfer window as they look to make that final push in the second half of the season.
The football season is in full swing and while some Indian clubs have shown great consistency and valour, others have struggled with form and injuries. In the second and third week of the month, teams have shown a considerable amount of activity in the transfer market, with ISL outfit Hyderabad FC leading the charge. The ISL sides have looked to improve their teams in the current transfer window as they are trying to make that one final push to reach the playoffs. Hyderabad FC have been very busy in the January window as they have brought some talented players like Ajay Chhetri on loan from Bengaluru FC. The youngster comes from the highly-rated BFC reserves side as the newcomers look to increase options in midfield. [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Goan striker Liston Colaco has also joined Hyderabad FC after FC Goa allowed him to leave the club in search of proper game time and his new destination looks like a viable option for his growth and development as a player. Former Churchill Brothers custodian Kunzang Bhutia has also made the switch to ISL with Anuj Kumar going the other way and joining Indian Arrows on loan. Defender Dimple Bhagat also joined the new ISL franchise. The biggest news, however, has to be Asamoah Gyan's inability to continue for NorthEast United as the Highlanders replaced the Ghanain talisman with former Ireland international Andy Keogh. Keogh brings Premier League experience to the ISL and will look to fill the void left by the 34-year old. With his side struggling for goal, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers forward will have a lot to prove in the latter part of the season. Former I-League champions, Aizawl FC have been the most active side in this January transfer window. Aizawl have made some changes and have parted ways with Malian midfielder Amadou Alou Sissoko. While they have also signed former Punjab FC winger William Opoku and former Aizawl FC forward Justice Morgan to bolster the team on the attacking front. Meanwhile, former FC Goa midfielder Imran Khan who was on loan at Mohun Bagan has joined NEROCA for the remainder of this season. whereas East Bengal have bagged two young talented players in Abhas Thapa from Hyderabad FC and Edmund Lalrindika from Bengaluru FC. The 19-year old versatile attacking midfielder joins the Southerners as a replacement for Pedro Manzi and will offer more creativity and panache to their attack. Lastly recently promoted side, TRAU FC from Manipur have signed former Aizawl FC and Gokulam Kerala forward Joel Sunday to add more depth to their forward line.Latest News
