Golden Boot race begins in the Indian Football League (IFL) 2025-26 season

The Indian Football League (IFL) has started with plenty of excitement, competitive matches and a good number of goals. This is the newest version of the I-League. Along with Shillong Lajong FC players, Fabrice Nkwoh is also a good name who features in the Indian Football League top goal scorers list in the second position with one goal. Fabrice Nkwoh plays for Sreenidi Deccan FC, who are right now on the third in the table.

Marcus Joseph takes an early lead in the chart

Marcus Joseph is a well-known name in the Indian Football League as well as in the Indian football circuit. Played for Mohammedan Sporting Club and many more, he is known for his ability to score and clinical finishing, with a lot of experience in the top-flight football.

At that moment, Marcus Joseph was leading the goal scorer chart in the Indian Football League 2025-26 season with two goals under his name with Dempo SC. In the last match against Bengal-based club Diamond Harbour FC, he scored another goal that secured his place at the top spot after the first match week.

He is a quality, reliable goal scorer for Dempo SC, known for his strength, intelligence and positioning. The Trinidad and Tobago international forward has been a key attacking player for Dempo SC in the 2025-26 Indian Football League season. His early goals have helped them a lot in the first few games.

Dempo will play Chanmari FC on March 12, which will be a good test for Marcus Joseph. If he maintains his consistency in front of goal, he will be a strong contender for the Golden Boot by the end of the season.
