India U17 men's football team wrap up Thailand tour with mixed outcomes

The Blue Colts are preparing for AFC U17 Asian Cup.
The Indian U17 men’s team concluded their tour of Thailand with a win over Indonesia, a draw with the hosts and a defeat to the Korea Republic. They wrapped up a productive tour in Thailand with some mixed results.
Overall, the tour provides valuable exposure, with India U17 playing three competitive matches against strong Asian oppositions the team has not featured in nine international friendlies this year, underlining the preparation ahead of the continental tournament.

The friendlies, part of the Blue Colts’ preparations for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026, were played behind closed doors at the Jaifah Academy in Lopburi. India U17 first drew 2-2 with Thailand on March 25, then defeated Indonesia 3-0 on March 28 before losing 1-2 to the Korea Republic on March 31. All four teams used these as preparatory games for the Asian Cup.
Bibiano Fernandes’ side have now played nine international friendly matches this year. In the AFC U17 Asian Cup, India will take on Australia (May 6), Uzbekistan (May 10) and DPR Korea (May 13) in Group D. After returning from Lopburi, India have continued their training camp in Kolkata.

- March 25, 2026: India 2 (Gunleiba Wangkheirakpam 22′, Denny Singh Wangkhem 67′) drew with Thailand 2 (39′, 86′)
- March 28, 2026: India 3 (Washington Singh Ngangom 17′, Gunleiba Wangkheirakpam 20′, 58′) defeated Indonesia 0
- March 31, 2026: India 1 (Gunleiba Wangkheirakpam 32′) lost to Korea Republic 2 (5′, 82′)
