India gears up for AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup
Fresh from their triumph at the SAFF U19 Women’s Championship, the India U17 Women’s team are set to continue their preparations for the upcoming AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup with two international friendly matches against Myanmar.
Under the guidance of head coach Pamela Conti, the Young Tigresses have shown impressive development and confidence in recent months.
The friendlies in Yangon will provide the squad with crucial international exposure as they fine-tune their tactics and squad combinations ahead of one of the biggest tournaments in Asian youth football.
What to expect from the friendlies

These matches will serve as an important testing ground for India’s young talents. Facing Myanmar away from home will allow the coaching staff to evaluate the squad against a physically competitive opponent while also helping players adapt to different match situations.
Coach Pamela Conti will get an opportunity to test the squad and experiment with various tactical setups, ensuring that the team is fully prepared for the challenges of the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup.
The matches will also help the players build match fitness and chemistry as they aim to carry their SAFF momentum onto the continental stage.
For India, the focus will be on maintaining defensive organization while improving attacking transitions, something that will be vital when facing stronger teams in Asia.
