ISL 2025-26: Kerala Blasters FC complete the signing of winger Taison Singh

Taison joins the Blasters after his stint with Mohun Bagan Super Giant’s reserve side

Kerala Blasters FC have completed the signing of Taison Singh, from the Mohun Bagan Super Giant reserve side, for the remainder of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 season. The 21-year-old joins the Blasters on a short-term contract, which runs until the end of this season, with an option to extend.

Taison has already linked up with the squad at Kochi and will be available for selection as Kerala Blasters continue their 2025-26 campaign.

“We are pleased to welcome Taison to the club, a player who is one of the brightest in his age group. We hope that he will use this platform to showcase his abilities and help the team over the course of this season.” Abhik Chatterjee, CEO, Kerala Blasters FC, said

I’m delighted to be here. Kerala Blasters is a massive club, and I’m looking forward to learning, improving, and helping the team achieve its goals,” said Taison after joining the Blasters.

Born in Manipur, Taison is a left-footed attacker known for his direct running, close control in tight spaces and ability to stretch defensive lines. Standing at 1.66m, his low center of gravity and agility allow him to operate effectively in 1v1 situations and in transitional phases.

Primarily operating as a right winger, Taison is equally comfortable playing across the midfield and forward line. A former India U-20 international, he has already gained valuable experience in domestic competitions, featuring in the I-League, RF Development League, and cup tournaments.

Taison began his youth career at the Chandigarh Football Academy before joining Indian Arrows, a developmental initiative by the AIFF during the 2020-21 season, where he started his senior career.

He later moved to Mohun Bagan Super Giant’s reserve side ahead of the 2022-23 season, continuing his progression in the domestic circuit.

Taison has represented the national team at the U20 level, registering three appearances and finding the net once.

He was also part of India’s squads across AFC youth competitions, underlining his credentials as one of the promising attacking prospects in his age group.

Having also been part of Mohun Bagan SG’s wider first-team ecosystem during domestic and continental campaigns, the winger now makes the move in search of consistent senior football and a platform to further accelerate his development.

What does Taison bring to the table for the Blasters?

Taison’s arrival adds depth, pace and unpredictability to the Blasters’ attacking unit as the club continues to build towards a strong finish to the season.

With the Blasters suffering, especially in the final third, Taison, if found rhythm with the squad, can help the Tuskers score a goal from open play, which they have failed to do this season.

Even though the Blasters have made a significant part of their attacks from the flanks, the struggle in scoring open-play goals becomes a concern. Additionally, the ambiguity regarding the availability of Korou Singh and the suspension of Victor will significantly hamper the offensive initiatives of the Blasters.

This is where Taison comes in as a potential saviour for the Blasters. At the club level, Taison has accumulated over 40 senior appearances across competitions, contributing seven goals and an assist, with particularly strong output in the Reliance Foundation Development League, where he recorded six goals in 14 appearances.

If the player can step up to the occasion and craft some attacks for the Blasters, he could potentially bag some goals and deliver some assists, to bring out the Tuskers from the relegation battle.
