Kerala Blasters FC are all set to play the first home game of their Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 against Mumbai City FC on the 22nd of February 2026 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi.
The Blasters, after a disappointing loss to the Mariners in the season opener, will be looking to bag their first points of the campaign, while Mumbai City FC, fresh from a 1-0 victory against Chennaiyin FC, will be eager to continue the momentum and climb higher up the table.
Whenever the Blasters and the Islanders have locked horns against each other, it has always produced some high-octane moments and delivered nothing less than delight for the fans.
Even though the fixture has favored Mumbai City FC in the initial days, ever since the 2021-22 season, the Blasters have managed to provide Mumbai with a fighting match and even managed to win a good number of matches, adding to the excitement of the fixture.
Over the past 11 years, the Blasters have faced Mumbai City 22 times in the Indian Super League. Out of these 22 meetings, Mumbai has won ten matches, Blasters came on top six times, and in 6 instances, the game ended in a stalemate.
Here is a detailed record of the all-time head-to-head record of Kerala Blasters FC vs Mumbai City FC.
An exciting clash with an entertaining history

The first time the Blasters ever faced Mumbai City FC was way back in 2014, at the DY Patil Stadium, where the Islanders secured a 1-0 victory over the finalists. In the next three meetings, a balanced head-to-head showdown meant that all the matches ended in a stalemate.
In the 2016 season, Blasters won their first match against City, but just one month later, what followed was a nightmare for Blasters as Mumbai held down the Tuskers 5-0. In 2019, the Blasters yet again succumbed to a 6-1 loss, which remains one of the biggest defeats of the Tuskers.
Mumbai kept defeating the Blasters until the 2021 season, before the men in yellow registered their first-ever league double against the Islanders, defeating them 3-0 and 3-1 in the same season. Their most heated rivalry came in the 2023-24 season, when, after a series of tense moments, Mumbai City emerged victorious 2-1.
In the reverse fixture, the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium was jam-packed on Christmas Eve to witness a sweet 2-0 revenge of the Blasters. In the 2024-25 season, Mumbai City FC secured a 4-2 dominating victory, and in the reverse fixture, a solitary goal from Kwame Peprah helped Blasters to secure a victory.
