NorthEast United FC vs Inter Kashi FC: All-time Head-to-Head record

NorthEast United FC are winless in their last five games.
Despite originally being scheduled as a home fixture for Inter Kashi FC, their clash against NorthEast United has now been shifted from Kolkata to the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati.
However, as Habas often reiterates in his press conferences, there is little distinction between home and away fixtures for Inter Kashi, given that they travel for every game regardless.
NorthEast United head into this contest on the back of a poor run of form, having failed to register a win in their last five matches. Their previous victory came at home against Jamshedpur FC, courtesy of Andy’s second-half brace. In their most recent outing, they were completely outplayed by the Gaurs and suffered a 2-0 defeat.
Inter Kashi FC, meanwhile, had built momentum with two consecutive wins before facing Punjab FC in their previous match. While Habas was hopeful of extending their unbeaten streak, Punjab delivered a reality check with a convincing 3-0 win.
Beyond the result on the pitch, Habas highlighted the challenges the club is facing off it, particularly concerning financial constraints and a lack of adequate support from the federation.
Such issues could inevitably influence the players’ mindset heading into this fixture. Nevertheless, Habas will look to rally his squad once again as they aim to capitalize on a struggling NorthEast United FC side and return to winning ways.
Can NorthEast United end their winless run against Inter Kashi FC?

With Inter Kashi being founded only recently, there is very limited history between the two sides. In fact, their only meeting came in the 2025-26 AIFF Super Cup, a tournament held prior to the start of the ISL season.
NorthEast United FC, under Juan Pedro Benali, fielded a full-strength squad in that encounter, including five foreign players such as Alaeddine Ajaraie and Chema Nunez. In contrast, Inter Kashi opted for a youthful, all-Indian lineup with only a handful of senior players, guided by goalkeeping coach Abhijit Mondal.
Inter Kashi made a bright start and took an early lead through Harmanpreet Singh. However, NorthEast United responded strongly, mounting an impressive comeback in the first half to go 2-1 up heading into the break.
While the Highlanders appeared on course to secure the win, Karthik Pannicker struck in the second half to equalise, earning a commendable result for the young Inter Kashi side.
This result dealt a significant blow to NorthEast United’s hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the tournament. They eventually finished second in the group with five points, just one point behind the leaders, FC Goa. Had they secured a win against Inter Kashi, the outcome could have been very different for the Durand Cup champions.
Heading into this fixture, Juan Pedro Benali will be keen to capitalise on the off-field uncertainties surrounding Inter Kashi.
With NorthEast United in need of points, he will be targeting a crucial victory to strengthen their position on the table and steer clear of a relegation battle in the closing stages of the season.
