FanCode secured the ISL 2025-26 media rights for ₹8.62 crore.
After much anticipation around the Indian Super League’s broadcast future, Khel Now can exclusively reveal that the ISL is set to be televised on Sony Sports Network for the 2025–26 season.
FanCode, which holds the league’s exclusive media rights for the 2025-26 season, has reached a final stage of talks with Sony Sports, with all major terms and conditions already agreed. Only final documentation and signatures remain, a formality expected to be completed within the next 12-24 hours.
“Talks between FanCode and Sony Sports Network are at the final stage, with all terms and conditions agreed. The final paperwork and signatures are expected to be completed within the next 12-24 hours,” a source close to the development informed Khel Now.
Once concluded, the arrangement will see Sony Sports Network act as the official national television broadcast partner, while FanCode continues as the exclusive digital streaming platform for India’s top-tier club competition.
FanCode’s ISL rights and the move to sublicense TV coverage

FanCode secured the ISL 2025–26 media rights through the AIFF tender process after winning Package B with a bid of ₹8.62 crore. The package included both television and digital rights, even though FanCode does not operate a linear TV channel.
From the outset, sublicensing television rights formed a key part of FanCode’s distribution strategy. Partnering with Sony Sports allows FanCode to ensure nationwide TV reach while retaining control of streaming, subscriptions, and digital engagement through its own platform.

Why does Sony Sports strengthen ISL’s broadcast reach?
Sony Sports Network’s entry is a significant boost for the ISL. The network brings established sports channels, proven football broadcast experience, and strong household popularity across India. This combination helps the league maintain visibility at a time when broadcast stability has become increasingly important for Indian football.
For fans, the partnership promises wider accessibility, with matches available both on traditional television and digital platforms throughout the season.
Production setup, revenue impact, and season format
While FanCode controls media rights, KPS Studios will handle world-feed production after winning Package E with a ₹5.22 crore bid. The production cost means the ISL’s net media revenue for the 2025–26 season stands at approximately ₹3.4 crore.
The league will feature 14 clubs playing a full home-and-away format, totalling 91 matches. The season begins on February 14, 2026, in Kolkata, with defending champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant hosting Kerala Blasters FC. Due to a compressed calendar, most fixtures will be scheduled as weekend double-headers, with kick-off times set for 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM.
