East Bengal FC stays strong at the top of the ISL standings

East Bengal continued their fine start to the 2025-26 Indian Super League (ISL) season and recorded a 4-1 win over Sporting Club Delhi during today’s first game. With this win, the Red and Gold brigade have sent out a statement of intent about how dangerous they can be this season.

Augustine Lalrochana opened the scoring within the first four minutes before Edmund Lalrindika levelled the game for the home side. Youssef Ezzejjari then added a couple of goals before Miguel Figueira wrapped up the win with a late goal.

The second game witnessed Jamshedpur FC also pull off their second consecutive win and add three more points to their tally. The Red Miners defeated Punjab FC at home with a slander 1-0 scoreline and moved up in the points table.

It was a cagey affair with both teams creating a few chances here and there before Vincy Barretto turned the game on its head with a goal for Punjab FC in the 78th minute.

East Bengal have reclaimed the first position following today’s win and now have six points to their name. Jamshedpur FC have been promoted to the second spot with six points while FC Goa have dropped down to the third position with four points.

Mohun Bagan SG further came down to the fourth position with three points. Bengaluru FC hold the fifth spot with three points while Mumbai City FC take the sixth spot with three points. 

Inter Kashi remained at seventh with one point. Odisha FC are yet to play a game. Punjab FC is ranked ninth followed by Chennaiyin FC who are placed tenth.

Kerala Blasters and Mohammedan Sporting are positioned 11th and 12th on the standings respectively. NorthEast United find themselves at the 13th position and Sporting Club Delhi now occupy the bottom place of the table.

  • Youssef Ezzejjari (East Bengal) – 4 goals
  • Dejan Drazic (FC Goa) – 2 goals
  • Miguel Figueira (East Bengal) – 2 goals
  • Madih Talal (Jamshedpur FC) – 1 goal
  • Sunil Chhetri (Bengaluru FC) – 1 goal

Players with the most assists after matchday 6 of ISL 2025-26:

  • Bipin Singh (East Bengal) – 1 assist
  • Anirudh Thapa (Mohun Bagan Super Giant) – 1 assist
  • Tomba Singh (Inter Kashi) – 1 assist
  • Nikhil Poojary (Bengaluru FC) – 1 assist
  • Pronay Halder (Jamshedpur FC) – 1 assist
