Bengaluru FC vs Hyderabad FC Player Ratings: Bheke and Chhetri shine; Ayush and Parag disappoint | ISL 2024-25

The Blues now sit at the top of the ISL points table with back-to-back wins at their stronghold.
Winning at home continues for Bengaluru FC as they defeated the Nizams with a scoreline of 3-0 in the Match week 2 of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season on Thursday at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.
The match saw Bengaluru FC skipper Rahul Bheke open the scoring in the 5th minute of the game from an inch-perfect delivery from the corner by the youngster Vinith Venkatesh. The Nizams, on the other hand started the game slow and struggled to get close to scoring.
In the second half, Bengaluru FC kept pushing for more goals and didn’t let up the pressure on Hyderabad FC. Sunil Chhetri scored twice, helping Bengaluru FC secure another comfortable win. Despite Hyderabad FC‘s best efforts, they couldn’t avoid defeat, losing all three points from their opening fixture of the 2024-25 ISL season.
Here’s a look at the Indian player ratings from the game.
Bengaluru FC
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu – 7.0
Gurpreet was quite impressive under the post right from the start. He made a few key stops and was clean with his clearances and ball collections. He added his first clean sheet of this season.
Roshan Naorem Singh – 7.0
He put in a good shift for his side at left wing-back, especially defensively, as he made a few crucial tackles to stop the opposition attacks.
Rahul Bheke – 8.0
Bheke gave his team a lead in the early minutes of the game. He was solid at the back throughout and gave no room to Hyderabad FC’s frontline.
Chinglensana Singh – 6.5
Chinglensana played well defensively tonight, won many duels against Hyderabad FC strikers and made a couple key tackles in the final third. Maintained good composure and shape throughout.
Nikhil Poojary – 6.5
Impressive while in possession. He was reliable in the back and guarded the HFC forwards throughout the game. Played some half-decent balls in the wings as well.
Suresh Singh – 6.5
Hardworking in midfield. Did not allow the Hyderabad midfield enough time on the ball to set the tempo.
Vinith Venkatesh – 8.0
He exactly started from where he left off in the last match. Helped Bheke score with a corner that was inches perfect. Vinith repeatedly attempted to overtake the HFC defence and had a few near-miss scores.
Substitutes
Sunil Chhetri – 8.5
Came on in the latter half of the game and scored a brace. Once again, he justified why he is called the Captain, Leader, and Legend of the game.
Fanai Lalremtluanga – 6.5
He did a good job with the ball, made a few good runs and tried to create chances.
Rohit Danu – 7.0
Brought in more attacking flair and pace in the game. Paired well with the teammates in finding scoring chances for the Blues.
Hyderabad FC
Arshdeep Singh – 5.5
Had to concede three goals in total. Wasn’t his best day at the office.
Mohammed Rafi – 6.0
He could not stop the Bengaluru FC attackers from scoring despite doing well defensively. Made some quality interceptions and tackles.
Alex Saji – 7.0
Played the role of a captain. He was the heart and soul of Hyderabad FC’s defense and had a significant role in each of Hyderabad FC’s movements. Helped the team both defensively and offensively.
Parag Shrivas – 6.0
Did not bring any notable impact on the team. Subbed-off in the second half.
Ayush Adhikari – 5.5
Ayush did not play up to his expectations. He looked sloppy at times, so was taken off in the later half of the game.
Ramhlunchhunga – 5.5
Wasn’t very involved in the game so, was taken off by Thangboi Singto before the last quarter of the game.
Abhijith PA – 5.5
He had a quite underwhelming night as he couldn’t create the impact for which he is so well-known.
Lenny Rodrguez – 6.5
Diligent in the middle of the field. Did not allow the Bengaluru midfield to control the pace while they had the ball. Lenny was quite impressive while he had the ball in his possession.
Leander D Cunha – 5.5
Was quite active in the middle, putting several passes forward to put the attackers in a good position. His mobility off the ball was also quite impressive.
Devendra Murgaonkar – 5.5
Had a disappointing game, and lacked the sharpness that was needed to find the back of the net.
Abdul Rabeeh – 5.5
Had an average game, and couldn’t break past Bengaluru’s rigid backline.
Substitutes
Aron Valalrinchhana – N/A
Added some fresh legs to the team
Sourav – N/A
Came in before the last quarter but left no such notable impact.
