Bengaluru FC aim to stop Mohun Bagan SG's perfect run in ISL 2025-26 at home

Jamie Maclaren’s red-hot form will threaten The Blues
Mohun Bagan face a stern test in their first away match of the 2025-26 Indian Super League (ISL), when they face off against Bengaluru FC in what should be a feisty clash at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru, on Saturday (14 March, 2026).
The Mariners have a perfect win record in the ISL so far but could face a tough challenge against a Bengaluru FC side who are a tough nut to crack at their home and desperate for their first major win in the ISL.
The Stakes
Bengaluru FC

Bengaluru FC have had a bit of a shaky start to their 2025-26 ISL campaign, winning two of their four matches – but already dropping five points! The Blues are desperate to get back into the ISL title race and the only way for them to do so would be if able to defeat the title front-runners in Mohun Bagan. Renedy Singh will be eager to get Bengaluru FC back to winning ways at home by shaping up his side to maintain a really sturdy defensive line that can neutralise the Mariners’ attacking threat.
Bengaluru FC not only have to be defensively rock-solid, but also efficient in converting their chances to be able to take points off Mohun Bagan. A win against this in-form Mariners side will be a huge confidence booster for Bengaluru FC and get them right back into the title race. However, suffering another loss at home would derail their spirits and dampen the reputation of their dominance at the Kanteerava.
Mohun Bagan

Mohun Bagan have had a perfect start to the Sergio Lobera era, being able to pick up four wins from as many games so far. The Mariners’ performances have become progressively more dominant in recent games, as they’ve soared to the top of the table to establish themselves as favourites to win the ISL title for the third straight season. Lobera, however, realises the stern test that his players will face in their first away game and how they need to be composed and clinical to be able to dominate the Blues at their own yard.
Mohun Bagan will need to keep a strong defensive shape, but their priority will be towards innovation in creating chances and being quick as well as ruthless in the transitions to torment the Bengaluru FC players. Another big win for Mohun Bagan will definitely help put them in the driving seat in the title race, but dropping points could hand the advantage to Jamshedpur FC and other title challengers in the race.
Team News
Renedy Singh has a fully fit squad to choose from in the upcoming clash against Mohun Bagan.
Sergio Lobera, meanwhile, is definitely missing the services of Asish Rai for this game. Robson Robinho missed the last game because of an injury, and he’ll face a fitness test to be fit for this one.

Players to Watch
Ryan Williams (Bengaluru FC)

Ryan Williams is heading into the clash against Bengaluru FC in hot form, having produced a stellar display by scoring a key goal in their recent win over Mohammedan SC. The new India international will now look to focus on tormenting another Kolkata-based side in Mohun Bagan by being a menacing figure in the wide areas.
Ryan will look to use his impressive turn of pace, dribbling ability and unpredictable to light up things on the right-wing and charge his side forward on their attacking moves. However, the 32-year-old needs to be really deicisve with his final third passes or even in terms of finishing off whatever chances he can get at the end off for him to inspire Bengaluru FC to a compelling win.
Jamie Maclaren (Mohun Bagan)

For Jamie Maclaren, the start of the 2025-26 ISL campaign has been the platform to show just how ruthless a centre-forward he can really be. The Australian ace has soared to the top of the ISL Golden Boot rankings with seven goals in four games, which includes his amazing four-goal haul against Odisha FC recently.
Maclaren is flying high on momentum and he’ll be determined to score in his fifth-straight match in the 2025-26 ISL against Bengaluru FC. Jamie looks to torment their Indian defenders with his clever off-the-ball movement and ability to sniff out chances in the final third. Maclaren will have to be as ruthless he’s been in finishing off chances in recent games to keep his good form going and guide Mohun Bagan to another important win.
