We are determined to get three points, says East Bengal asst. coach Bino George

East Bengal hope to rejuvenate their Indian Super League (ISL) playoffs dreams when they face Kerala Blasters on Wednesday (April 3). The Red & Gold Brigaders desperately need a big win to stay in the race for that sixth spot and pile the pressure on those around them.
How East Bengal are prepared for Kerala Blasters clash
With Carles Cuadrat away, assistant coach Bino George took to the media to describe how his side feels about facing Kerala in what will be his return to his home state too. He stated, “I’m very happy to play against Kerala Blasters. We stick to our plan, we are determined to get the three points, we’ve seen how they’ve played in their last matches, so our team has come up with a plan to win. We’ll just go for the win, that’s all,” Bino added.
Will Kerala Blasters’ support play a part in the result?
George also doesn’t feel that Kerala Blasters’ large support will be that big of an issue for his side, as he explained, “In football, you will always be happy to play in front of these kinds of fans here. Only East Bengal and Mohun Bagan play in front of such similarly large crowds in the ISL. We have experience playing in front of large crowds, so I think we can settle in well.”
Plans for newly promoted reserve players
With East Bengal recently promoting young players Shyamal Besra and Mahitosh Roy from their reserve side to the senior squad, the assistant coach was asked if they could be expected to get game-time in the crunch finish to the season.
Bino George answered, “For me, I’m very happy. It’s not just Shyamal and Mahitosh, but even Aman CK and Jesin TK, PV Vishnu, and a lot of reserve players have been promoted to the senior team. Even Kerala Blasters have promoted a lot of young players. This is good for me and I’m very happy these players can play against the good teams in the ISL.”
George proud to see young players prosper at East Bengal
Finally, George also explained his pride and happiness to see the reserve players he’s worked with getting chances in the senior team, as he remarked: “As I already stated, there is a motivation from the reserve players to get promoted to the senior team.
It’s good for the boys and good for me to work on the reserve players, as we’re getting more players joining from that squad. I’m very happy that coach Carles is giving more exposure and opportunities to the youngsters,” Bino finished off.
East Bengal can climb up to seventh place in the ISL table with a win over Kerala Blasters. However, a loss can more or less end their chances of securing a playoff spot – with current sixth-place Bengaluru FC already having four points more than them.
