Mumbai City FC will be missing a key player in the ISL grand finale.
The Indian Super League (ISL) will unveil the final chapter of its 10th edition as two of the greatest teams in the league face off against each other in the ultimate game. It is going to be a cracker of a contest as the City of Joy gears up to host one more iconic night in Indian football.
Mohun Bagan snatched the ISL Shield from Mumbai City FC in their last meeting to showcase a blockbuster end to the league stage fixtures. The Islanders on the other hand, will be eyeing revenge and there’s no better stage to get it done in the ISL final.
The two-time League Shield winners will miss out on the services of star midfielder Yoel van Nieff who is out of the ISL final to a suspension. The Dutchman was on the receiving end of a controversial booking in Mumbai City FC’s second leg semi-final against FC Goa. Nieff will be a miss for the Islanders because he plays a crucial role in the way Mumbai City FC operate.
With the ISL final just a night away, let us take a look at what could be Mumbai City FC’s winning combination on the field to go the distance.
Starting XI (4-3-3)
Reinforcements from the bench
Petr Kratky is not expected to make changes into his starting XI apart from replacing Yoell van Nieff. The team look very much settled on paper and have good reinforcements available at their disposal. Jakub Vojtus, Bipin Singh and Gurkirat SIngh can come on later in the game to bolster their attack while players like Vinit Rai, Valpuia and Sanjeev Stalin can provide solidity at the back if required.
