Hyderabad FC are gearing up to host Kerala Blasters in their final home game of the Indian Super League (ISL) season, scheduled for April 12th at the GMC Balayogi Stadium, with kickoff set for 7:30 PM. As they prepare to bid farewell to the season on their home turf, the Nizams are determined to deliver a strong performance and secure a positive result.
Despite the elusive quest for their first home game triumph, Thangboi Singto’s Hyderabad FC have consistently delivered commendable performances. Despite setbacks and defeats, the team’s unwavering resilience and competitive edge remain palpable, underscoring their relentless pursuit of success.
Thangboi Singto answered all the questions with confidence in the press conference. Let’s dive deep into what Singto said:
On defeat against Goa
Following a victory against Chennaiyin FC, where Hyderabad showcased their strength with an all-Indian lineup, the team experienced a devastating setback in a humiliating defeat against FC Goa. Addressing this disappointing result, Thangboi Singto acknowledged the challenges faced and reflected on the lessons learned from the loss.
“As a club, we would focus on the progress we can make, But, this year I think we had a lot of challenges and it was a test of grit and a test of character and esteem. So, for me personally, I think I have learned a lot of things. Hopefully, we can take the positives forward.
“I think after coming back from the break, I won’t say it was a terrible performance, but in terms of the goals we conceded, I think no one is happy; the team, the players, the staff because we knew that Goa was a very strong team. But, conceding four goals was annoying and very difficult,” Thangboi Singto exclaimed.
On International break
Following their first victory, the international break provided a valuable opportunity for the team to regroup and recharge. However, despite their efforts to rejuvenate, they experienced a setback with a defeat immediately after the break. Thangboi Singto expressed disappointment with the defeat but also acknowledged the efforts of the owners in ensuring the club’s continuity and stability.
“I think I have mentioned that the break wasn’t as good as expected for us because on one side we thought that it would help us to regroup and recover and come back fresh. But, it didn’t happen. The reason is we’re a bunch of young players and staff. There is a limit for everything you know and despite trying our best in the pitch, I think it was more of a climbing the hill and then followed by a downfall. I think, this last one we just have to stick there for the last night, you know, just for pride, just for the badge not only for the fans but for the club owners.
“I would like to give them the due credit. If the owners had not really, you know made it possible for us despite a difficult season we might not be here speaking like this because we also know that they have and they will continue to try their best in keeping this club and hopefully us those who remain or who will remain to have a better approach, better future in the next year,” Thangboi Singto asserted.
On facing Kerala Blasters
Facing Kerala Blasters, who have already secured a spot in the playoffs, Thangboi Singto emphasized the team’s unwavering focus on securing all three points, despite the formidable challenge posed by their opponents. Singto also expressed gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support throughout the season, underscoring the team’s determination to give their best effort in the final match.
“Now this is our last game that too at home, Well in terms of our preparation, in terms of our mental and, physical approach, I think we have to give it all. We don’t have a choice. We play a team that has already qualified for the playoffs. It’s always good because Kerala is a team that has a lot of fame and fervor as a club, whether you know it as a strong team or the supporters.
“So, I believe a good chunk of Manjapadda will be here and we’ll be ready. We have the Deccan Legion, who are always with us, supporting us when we’re down and their happiness was visible when we won. This game is just as important as the first game was for us,” Thangboi Singto noted.
Aron Vanlalrinchhana’s thoughts
Aron Vanlalrinchhana, who plays as a midfielder now has recently been promoted to the senior team from the reserves. He acknowledged that KBFC will pose a formidable challenge, but also emphasized that they are prepared to give their utmost effort.
“I thank Thangboi Singto for trusting me enough and giving me a chance to prove my potential, I think the team is ready, We’ve trained well and are looking forward to facing the Kerala Blasters. They have already qualified for the playoffs and are a difficult team to play against, but we aim at winning and getting all the three points,” Aron stated.
