Hyderabad FC are struggling in ISL 2024-25.
Hyderabad FC’s ongoing season has been far from ideal, with the team struggling to replicate their past successes. Following a turbulent 2023–24 campaign marked by financial instability, the acquisition of the club by the Jindal Group brought hope for a resurgence.
However, inconsistency and a lack of preparation have left the team languishing near the bottom of the Indian Super League (ISL) table.
With the January transfer window approaching, Hyderabad FC are focused on rebuilding their squad to regain form and climb the league standings.

Mohammed Kaif joins Hyderabad FC on a permanent deal
The arrival of Mohammed Kaif from Zinc Football Academy shows Hyderabad FC’s commitment to nurturing young talent. The 15-year-old defender has already made a name for himself in the Indian U-17 team, where his leadership qualities and defensive prowess were on full display during the SAFF U-17 Championship.
Kaif captained India to the semi-finals, maintaining two clean sheets along the way. While he will spend the rest of the season on loan at Diamond Harbour, his addition to Hyderabad FC’s plans signals a focus on bolstering their defensive ranks with homegrown talent.
Augustine Lalrochana secures Pre-Contract
Hyderabad FC have also secured the services of Augustine Lalrochana from Aizawl FC, with the promising right-winger set to join in the summer transfer window.
The Mizoram-born player has shown glimpses of brilliance in the I-League, with a goal and assist in limited game time this season. His pace and attacking flair are expected to add much-needed creativity to the Yellow and Black’s attacking setup.
Clarence Fernandes Strengthens the Backline
Adding further depth to their defence, Hyderabad FC have secured Clarence Fernandes, a young and versatile defender from Bengaluru FC, through a pre-contract. Clarence, a 20-year-old with extensive youth-level experience, has represented India in the U-15 and U-16 teams and gained valuable exposure during Bengaluru FC’s Dubai tour. His performances in the RF Development League have demonstrated his ability, making him a valuable addition to Hyderabad’s defensive setup.
Hyderabad FC’s rebuilding phase is still a work in progress, but their proactive approach in the transfer market reflects a long-term vision. With promising young talents like Kaif, Lalrochana, and Fernandes in the pipeline, the Nawabs aim to strengthen their squad depth and establish a solid foundation for future success.
As the January transfer window nears, Hyderabad FC’s management will need to address immediate gaps while nurturing these signings for a brighter future.
