We're determined to bounce back, says Khalid Jamil before Mumbai City tie
Jamshedpur FC under Khalid Jamil will be desperate for three points from the game.
Jamshedpur FC will host Mumbai City FC at the Furnace on Friday in an Indian Super League (ISL) encounter equally important for both sides. The Islanders are in contention for the League title whereas the hosts have a do-or-die game if they have to make it to the play-offs.
Khalid Jamil addressed the media along with young prospect Mohammed Sanan before the ball gets rolling tomorrow. Here are the excerpts from the press conference.
On the away victory last time
Jamshedpur FC made a remarkable comeback win against Petr Kratky’s Mumbai City FC the last time they locked horns. After going 2-0 down at the break, the Men of Steel won 3-2 courtesy of a brace from master Manzorro.
Khalid shared his thoughts on that game, “Certainly, we’re currently focusing on learning from our recent match against Mohun Bagan rather than dwelling on past away games. It didn’t meet our expectations, so we’re determined to bounce back, especially since we’re playing on our home turf. Despite facing a strong opponent, we can’t afford to underestimate them.”
On tomorrow’s game
The manager shifted the focus on tomorrow’s home game terming it as an important one for them. The manager also talked about the preparations of his players for the match.
The coach asserted, “Our approach will differ this time. I’ve previously acknowledged the talent of both Mohun Bagan and Mumbai players, but playing at home changes the dynamic. We need to learn from our previous performance and maintain a positive mindset, focusing on our own game.”
He continued, “Our players are putting in immense effort, fully aware of the significance of this match. We’re up against a formidable opponent, emphasizing the need to give our all without complacency.”
Sanan’s comments
The Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) product Mohammed Sanan credited head coach Jamil for his steady improvement. He shared, “As you’ve noticed, my performance has been steadily improving, which I attribute to the coach’s guidance and the collective encouragement from teammates. The coach’s approach of pushing all players, not just me, fosters growth for the entire team.”
The youngster concluded with a message for the fans that reads, “The consistent support from our fans, evident in their presence at every game, is deeply appreciated. I want to express gratitude for their unwavering backing and encourage them to continue supporting us in upcoming matches. Thank you for standing by us.”
