Jose Molina highlights Jamshedpur FC threat ahead of key ISL encounter

Jose Molina’s Mohun Bagan looks to maintain their winning run in the Indian Super League (ISL) when they face an in-form Jamshedpur FC side at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur on Friday (17 January).

The Mariners might’ve picked up an easy 3-0 win over the Men of Steel earlier this season, but now face a different unit altogether as Khalid Jamil’s side come into this game on a three-match winning streak.

Jose Molina realizes that this will be a challenging game for his side, as he stated before the match: ““I always say that it’s never easy to win an ISL game and it’s not right to be overconfident. They are in good shape now, they’ve won the last match and are performing really well. It was really difficult to beat them here, it was not comfortable and we had to work a lot in the first match to win. We have to do the same, or even more to beat them away.

“They are having a great season and they are more dangerous at home. They are winning all the home matches, only lost one and the rest have all been victories. We know it’ll be a very tough match, but as I always say, I’m always confident in my team and the work we’re doing. I hope we can win and come back with three points. We are also very good home in our home, we and Jamshedpur have two of the best home records. They are probably strong at home as they are a good team, but I don’t think there is anything special about that stadium,” he also added.

On their improvements needed

When asked if he wants his side to improve their goal-scoring aspect after they only scored one goal in the recent win over East Bengal. He replied: “I would like to improve everything in my team. I’m happy with my team and my players’ performances.

“Part of my job is to try to improve in every little aspect of the team’s player, be it attack, scoring goals, defend better and be better combinations in the attack and the players’ decision-making too. I want to help the players improve as a player, human and also as a team,” he finished with.
