Mohun Bagan will look to grab three points at home.

Jose Molina’s Mohun Bagan hope to claim back their place on top of the Indian Super League (ISL) table when they host Chennaiyin FC at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata on Saturday (30 November).

The Mariners actually lost to the Marina Machans in this fixture last season, as they seek revenge for that and look to continue their impressive form in the ISL.

Chennaiyin FC might have only won one of their last three games, but they possess a dangerous attacking line with quality players. In particular, strikers Wilmar Jordan and Daniel Chima Chukwu can torment any defensive line – with the former having six goals already in nine matches this season.

Jose Molina’s thoughts on Chennaiyin FC

Jose Molina admits that Chennaiyin FC boast quality strikers, but insists they are two of many dangerous forwards across the ISL teams. Ahead of the game, Jose Molina stated: “They are really good players and they’ll put us under pressure during the game because they are quality players. They will push our centre-backs and trouble our defence and can score at any moment. But every team in ISL have great attacking players and great strikers.

“Not all of them are the same kind of player nor do all of them have the same quality, there are some differences between them but every game is a challenge for our defenders to defend well, try not to concede and tomorrow will be another such challenge.

“We’re in a good momentum in terms of football, having four clean sheets in the last five games and only one goal conceded. Hopefully, we can keep going this same way and have another good performance against Chennaiyin,” Jose Molina also added.

Mohun Bagan are unbeaten in home games so far this season, having won three of their four matches so far. They’ll aim to build on that record when they face the two-time ISL champions and maintain their ascent upwards in the ISL table.
