Dimitri Petratos scored the 300th ISL goal of this season.

Owen Coyle’s Chennaiyin FC beat ISL Shield favorites Mohun Bagan Super Giant 3-2 to strengthen their case for a playoff spot. The Kolkata Giants on the other hand faced a major dent in their ISL Shield hopes. With this win the Marina Machans find themselves in 9th position with 21 points in 19 games.

Whereas, the legacy club finds them two points adrift at the summit of the Indian Super League table. Unfortunately, the result meant that Mohun Bagan’s chances to claim the ISL Shield will now depend on various other permutations and combinations.

Finnish playmaker Joni Kauko scored the first goal in the 29th minute to give Mohun Bagan the lead. The game stayed in Habas’ side’s control until the 72nd minute when Jordan Murray equalized for Owen Coyle’s side. Defender Ryan Edwards gave the Tamil Nadu side the lead in the 80th minute.

However, the drama was far from over as Dimi Petratos converted the penalty in the fourth minute of injury time to equalize for the home side. The young forward Irfan Yadwad scored a clinical goal in the seventh minute of the added time to seal all three points for Chennaiyin.

Meanwhile, let us look at the stats from the game.
