Mohun Bagan players are in cloud nine after clinching their first-ever Indian Super League (ISL) Shield. They managed to pip Mumbai City to the championship with a thrilling win in front of 60,000+ fans at the Salt Lake Stadium.
The Mariners’ squad is well aware about the need to give back to not just the fans, but those in need. A few days after the ISL Shield joy, Mohun Bagan stars Dimitri Petratos and Brendan Hamill opted to do something admirable for some underprivileged children in Kolkata.
After a training session, the two Australian stars travelled to a nearby place to the Salt Lake Stadium and the Hyatt Regency hotel to help distribute some necessary football gear to the young children. In a place near the Subas Sarobar lake, the two made the trip in a hot and humid day to help bring smiles in the faces of these children.
Not only did Hamill and Petratos distribute stuff like football kits or match balls, but also those to help the education of these underprivileged children. They were seen distributing drawing books, textbooks and more essential stuff to help distribute something that really benefits these children.
The Australian duo also decided to improve the quality of a caged, small-sized football pitch near their hotel. They decided to bring mini-goal nets which the children or those who play in the ground can use when playing football.
During the entire period when they were distributing these items, both Brendan Hamill and Dimitri Petratos came off as warm and friendly to the fans and whoever wanted to interact with them.
The two could be seen taking numerous pictures with supporters and voicing their delight to have won the ISL Shield for the supporters. Well, the next target for these two and the rest of the Mohun Bagan squad is to win the ISL playoffs title – for which they need to defeat Odisha FC in a double-legged semi-final first.
