Mohun Bagan fans unfurl unique tifos ahead of Odisha FC clash

Mohun Bagan are well on their way to retaining the ISL 2024-25 Shield.
The Mohun Bagan fans had a lot of fun ahead of their Indian Super League (ISL) clash against Odisha FC at the Salt Lake Stadium on Sunday (23 February). Before the match, the Mariners knew that getting a win will help them win the 2024-25 ISL league shield title and retain the championship they have won in thrilling fashion in the previous campaign.
Before kick-off, the Salt Lake Stadium was absolutely jam-packed by the Mohun Bagan fans with over 50,000 fans present to watch the huge clash. Right before the match was kick-started, the players got a raucous reception from the home fans.
Along with some loud cheers, the Mohun Bagan fans also debuted a few unique Tifos to light up the stands. A prominent tifo, which was unveiled in one of the stands, saw Mohun Bagan owner Sanjeev Goenka celebrated in grand fashion. Goenka’s face was imprinted into the famous picture of Marlon Brando in the post of the iconic film ‘The Godfather’.

The words ‘Veni, Vini, Vinci’ was also written on the banner, with these words basically meaning ‘I came, I saw, I conquered,’ and is used to describe a quick victory.
Another Tifo featuring Sanjeev Goenka was also brought to the stadium by the fans, showing him posing in front of a board which had the 2024 ISL Shield imprinted on it. Beside that shield’s picture, there was another one for the shield they’ll retain in t0225.
Fans show unwavering support
There was another Tifo which celebrated the Mohun Bagan squads to have won the national league championships over the last decades. The banner features a picture of their National Football League (NFL) squad, along with the team that won the I-League as well in the 2010s. On the extreme right, the players who helped the Mariners win the 2023-24 ISL Shield are featured.

The Mohun Bagan fans also took a cheeky swipe at their rival East Bengal and Odisha FC fans by debuting a funny little Tifo in the stands. This showed one fan enjoying a bowl full of Roshogolla’s, with a Mohun Bagan fan beside him claiming how those Roshogolla is not the original one, with the Kolkata ones considered as the original ones.
Moreover, the fan also boasts about how the shield they have is the rightful one, with an East Bengal fan peeping in from the window. Mohun Bagan fans have been very innovative and devoted with their Tifos in the 2024-25 season.
In Mohun Bagan’s 1-0 win over Bengaluru FC at the Salt Lake Stadium earlier this season, their fans debuted a 25,000 square feet long banner. It reportedly cost the fans ₹7.5 lakhs to make and was a 340ft*75ft hand painted banner.
The fans have ensured that the players, who have consistently dominated in the 2024-25 ISL campaign, have felt their love by constantly bringing out these clever banners.
