The Islanders and Nizams will look to bounce back when they lock horns on Saturday

Mumbai City FC are hungry to get a win so that they can go up in the points table. They will host the Nizams on Saturday evening in the Mumbai Football Arena. Both teams have struggled recently and are facing the same challenge of scoring goals. Quality wise surely there is a difference in both teams but somehow they have failed to get a good result consistently in the Indian Super League.

Both teams lost their home game in a humiliating fashion and will look to bounce back in this upcoming fixture. The Islanders are surely the favourites to win this game but the Nizams are very much capable of surprising them to get a good result.

The Stakes

Mumbai City FC

The Islanders suffered a shocking defeat on the hand of Punjab FC at home where they lost by 3-0. This was Petr Kratly’s biggest defeat after becoming Mumbai City FCβ€˜s head coach. Nobody expected the Shers to perform like that away from home. Despite playing at home the Islanders looked clueless in the final third.

In eight games they have only got 10 points till now and are sitting at the 10th spot. Fans expressed their frustration after the match when they argued with the Dutchman Yoell van Nieff. The Islanders have quality players on their side who can get them results but somehow everybody is failing to deliver the result. This fixture against the Nizams will surely be a big test for the home side.

Hyderabad FC

Despite facing a humiliating defeat to Odisha FC, Thangboi Singto showed belief in his players and said that he trusts them to deliver results in the upcoming games. The Juggernauts trashed them 6-0 at their own home and showed their quality on the pitch. The Nizams did create chances in the last fixture but converting those into goals is still the biggest issue for them.

Playing as an away team in the Mumbai Football Arena will not be an easy task for sure but they will have to be resilient and work hard to get a good result. They will have to be at their best and give their all in this upcoming game. Even if they win this fixture they will remain at the 11th spot since they have a poor goal difference as compared to the Islanders.

Team News

Mumbai City FC

Yoell van Nieff came out in the first half against Punjab due to a hamstring injury and is doubtful for the upcoming fixture. The rest of the players are fit and will be available for the match.

Hyderabad FC

The Nizams don’t have any injury issues in their camp and all players are fit.

Predicted Lineups

Mumbai City FC (4-3-3):

Phurba Lachenpa (GK); Valpuia, Mehtab Singh, Tiri, Nathan Rodrigues; Jayesh Rane, Jeremy Manzorro, Jon Toral; Lallianzuala Chhangte, Nikos Karelis, Bipin Singh

Lalbiakhlua Jongte (GK); Mohamed Rafi, Alex Saji, Stephan Sapic, Parag Shrivas; Abdul Rabeeh, Lenny Rodrigues, Andre Alba, Ramhlunchhunga; Edmilson Correia, Allan Paulista

Players to Watch

Jon Toral (Mumbai City FC)

The Spaniard brought a lot of hope and expectations when he joined the Islanders as his CV is one of the best in the leagues. But till now he is not been able to deliver as per the expectations. At the beginning of the season, he did get injured but he came back very soon. His impact on goals is not that much and is expected to perform well in upcoming fixtures.

Toral does create chances for himself and his teammates but is not able to get the final outcome. Petr Kratky is confident in his abilities and surely he is capable of making a difference on the pitch. Against Nizams, he will hope to get some goals and assists to his name.

Allan Paulista (Hyderabad FC)

When Paulista joined the club there were some mixed reactions as the fans were expecting a better player. Even though he has not scored a lot of goals he always gives his best on the pitch and works hard for his teammates.

The Brazilan does not get many balls as the Nizams have issues in the final third. Paulista is a lethal finisher inside the box but he does not get enough supply and help from his teammates so that he can score goals. He will definitely be a big problem for the Islander’s defence and is capable of getting a good result for Hyderabad FC.
