Chennaiyin FC sit at the 10th spot in the ISL table.

Chennaiyin FC held Mohun Bagan Super Giant to a goalless draw at the Marina Arena in the first match of gameweek 18. The home side started strong with Wilmar Jordan recording the first shot of the game before Deepal Tnagri forced a save out of Mohammad Nawaz. Abhishek Suryavanshi took a shot from a distance, but the keeper had his angles covered and then Suhail Bhatt missed the target by the finest of margins.

The second half was a closed affair with both teams not creating many chances. Dimitri Petratos created the first chance of the second half, but his free-kick went well wide. Ryan Edwards probably had the best chance of the game, but couldn;t place his header on target and then the referee blew the full-time whistle. 

A brief look at the points table

Mohun Bagan continued their dominance at the top of the Indian Super League (ISL) table with 37 points in 17 games. FC Goa hold the second position with 30 points followed by Bengaluru FC at third with 28 points. Jamshedpur FC continue to sit at the fourth position with 28 points. NorthEast United FC have not moved from the fifth spot with 25 points in 16 games. Mumbai City FC are still placed sixth with 24 points in 16 games. 

Odisha FC remain intact at the seventh position and have 21 points. Kerala Blasters remain intact at the eighth position with 21 points. Punjab FC are still ranked ninth with 20 points. Chennaiyin FC and East Bengal continue to hold the tenth and eleventh positions with 18 points and 14 points respectively. Mohammedan SC are placed twelfth with eleven points. Hyderabad FC have retained the thirteenth place with just nine points on the board.
