NorthEast United’s ISL playoffs aspirations took a blow, courtesy this result.

Mumbai City FC defeated NorthEast United 4-1 in the recently concluded match of the ISL 2023-24 edition at the Mumbai Football Arena. 

Vikram Partap Singh’s marvellous hat-trick, along with Yoell van Nieff’s spot-kick helped Mumbai City thrash the Highlanders on home soil.

A brief look at the points table 

Mumbai City FC have accumulated 39 points from 19 matches and taken the top spot in the ISL 2023-24 table after their recent win. Mohun Bagan are now in second place with 36 points from 17 matches, followed by Odisha FC at the third spot with 35 points.

FC Goa remain at the fourth place with 33 points from 18 matches. Kerala Blasters FC remain fifth with 29 points from 17 matches. Jamshedpur hold the sixth place with 21 points from 19 matches. Punjab FC have jumped to the seventh spot with their draw against FC Goa. They are followed by Bengaluru FC in the eighth position..

NorthEast United FC are ninth with 20 points from 18 matches, while East Bengal FC and Chennaiyin FC hold the 10th and 11th spots, respectively.

Hyderabad FC remain as the bottom-placed side with just five points from 18 matches.
