ISL 2023-24: Points Table, Most Goals and Most Assists after Match 124, Mumbai City FC vs Odisha FC
The outcome of this tie will now make Mumbai City FC a top favourite to clinch the ISL Shield.
Mumbai City FC got the better of Odisha FC at home in the ISL 2023-24 on Monday. Jorge Pereyra Diaz gave the Islanders the lead in the 22nd minute. But that was short-lived as Odisha’s Brazilian striker Diego Mauricio restored parity three minutes later.
The second half saw some tactical and mind-boggling action from both parties and finally, it was Lallianzuala Chhangte who netted the winner for the home team; a goal which was deemed controversial by Odisha FC players.
A brief look at the points table
Mumbai City FC remain at the top with 47 points from 21 matches, while Mohun Bagan Super Giant have taken the second place with 42 points from 20 matches. Odisha FC are now placed third with 39 points from 21 matches.
FC Goa are in fourth place with 39 points from 20 matches. Kerala Blasters FC remain at fifth position with 30 points from 21 matches, followed by East Bengal who have elevated to the sixth place after their recent win over Bengaluru FC.
Chennaiyin FC are now in seventh with 24 points from 20 matches. NorthEast United hold the eighth place with 23 points from 20 games. Bengaluru FC have lost one place and are now at ninth with 22 points from 21 matches.
Jamshedpur FC and Punjab FC, whose playoffs aspirations are over, find themselves in 10th and 11th, respectively.
Hyderabad FC are the bottom-placed side with just eight points from 21 matches.
