Mohun Bagan are the winners of the ISL 2024-25 shield.

Mohun Bagan emerged victorious against Odisha FC and secured their second ISL shield title in the process. Tonight’s result has guaranteed Mohun Bagan a first-place finish having crossed the 50 points mark while Odisha FC’s playoffs aspirations have taken a major hit.

The Juggernauts created the first chance of the game with Rahul KP coming ever so close to breaking the deadlock. Jamie Maclaren registered the first chance for the hosts with a shot on target, but Amrinder denied him with a brilliant save. 

Amrinder pulled off two back-to-back saves to deny Greg Stewart and Maclaren an opening in the dying minutes of the first half. Maclaren set up Manvir Singh in the centre of the box, but the forward hit it wide. Vishal Kaith was brought into action by Hugo Boumous before Dimitri Petratos tested Amrinder. Mourtada Fall received a red card and then Petratos won the game and the shield for Bagan with a left-footed strike.

A brief look at the points table

Mohun Bagan have won the league and will finish as the table topper with 52 points in 22 games. FC Goa remained in the second spot with 42 points from 21 games. Jamshedpur FC hold the third spot with 37 points from 21 games. Bengaluru FC stayed firm at the fourth spot and now have 34 points from 21 games. NorthEast United FC and Mumbai City FC are placed fifth and sixth with 31 and 32 points respectively.

Odisha FC are still positioned seventh with 29 points in 22 games. East Bengal have been promoted to the eighth position with 24 points while Kerala Blasters have dropped down to the ninth spot with 24 points in 21 outings. Punjab FC have been relegated to tenth place with 24 points in 20 games.

Chennaiyin FC have further come down to eleventh with 24 points in 21 matches. Hyderabad FC retained the twelfth spot with 17 points from 21 games. Mohammedan SC are still sitting at the bottom of the table with eleven points in 21 matches.
