Mohun Bagan pulled off their tenth win of the season and the Indian Super League (ISL) returned to action for the first time since the turn of the year. The Mariners tore Hyderabad FC to shreds and pulled off a well-drilled 3-0 victory in front of their home fans. Bagan started strong and forced Hyderabad FC into an own goal as Stefan Stapic put the ball in his net and gave the hosts an early lead.

Hyderabad FC forced Vishal Kaith into two quick saves before Jamie Maclaren came close to scoring one more goal. Tom Alred eventually netted the second goal and put his side into the driving seat. Jason Cummings scored a wonderful third goal and made it 3-0 and put the game to bed. The Nizams came very close to scoring a goal, but Vishal Kaith pulled off three back-to-back saves and kept a clean sheet.

A brief look at the points table

Mohun Bagan remain intact at the top of the table following their win tonight and now have 32 points in 14 games. Bengaluru FC hold the second spot with 27 points while FC Goa remain unchanged in the third position with 22 points. NorthEast United FC are locked in at fourth with 21 points. Jamshedpur FC are still positioned fifth with 21 points in 12 games. Odisha FC completed the top six with 20 points. 

Mumbai City FC continue to sit in the seventh spot with 20 points. Punjab FC are still placed eighth with 18 points in 12 games. Chennaiyin FC are ranked ninth with 15 points. Kerala Blasters retained the tenth position with 14 points to their name. East Bengal hold the eleventh spot with 13 points. The twelfth and the thirteenth positions are shared by Hyderabad FC and Mohammedan SC respectively.
