The Tuskers take on the Blues in an away derby game.
Kerala Blasters are traveling away for their next fixture against Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season. The highly anticipated Southern Derby clash promises to be a thrilling encounter, as both teams, coming back off a defeat, aim for three crucial points.
Mikael Stahre opens up about his side’s season so far and what needs to change. “I think every game has had a different story. We have played way better than the outcome reflects. I believe we deserve more points but we can’t use that as an excuse. We have to work even harder to gain some luck.
Mikael Stahre points out issues
“I think from a technical perspective we are on track. We have to avoid silly mistakes and focus on team performance. We have to defend stronger together and get the basics right. We are disappointed with the results but you have to see the positive things,” Mikael Stahre stated.
As the Tuskers prepare for the away game, the head coach, speaking about his plans for the derby, stated, “We will have a clear game plan and make some adjustments, like we always do. We conceded just one goal in two games. In the position we are at the moment, we have to focus on ourselves and put in a great performance.
“We have to work hard for the club and the fans and show them a real battle. We need points to climb the table, but for now, our focus is on this game. It’s a rivalry game, so let’s go out and win this,” asserted the tactician.
Mikael Stahre, when asked about the atmosphere in the camp ahead of the fixture, replied, “We are always motivated. We had a great session yesterday, and it was one of the best we have had in months. We have been practicing well. We are energetic and will be completely prepared for that game. We had enough time to recover from the loss against FC Goa, both from a physical and mental perspective. We will be good on Saturday, for sure.”
