Jose Molina also spoke about missed chances in the game.

Mohun Bagan were held to a 1-1 draw by Odisha FC in their Indian Super League (ISL) meeting before the November international break. The Mariners went behind early on at the Kalinga Stadium thanks to an indirect free-kick goal from former midfielder Hugo Boumous.

Manvir Singh scored the equalizer in the 36th minute, and the Kolkata heavyweights dominated much of the game after that. But neither side was able to score, leading them to have to share the points after an entertaining outing.

After the game, Jose Molina praised Dimitri Petratos for his positive impact as he started his first ISL match since the 3-0 loss to Bengaluru FC in September. Jose Molina stated: “Dimitri Petratos played well, helped the team in defence and was good in transitions.

“He tried creating superiority in the middle, dropping in a bit as Jamie Maclaren is more of a striker looking to get in the back of the defence. Dimitri combined well with the players, Anirudh Thapa, Liston Colaco and Manvir Singh. He couldn’t score, but I’m really happy with the performance of Dimi after not being in the lineup for some matches. So great job from him,” Jose Molina also added.

Jose Molina also praised Vishal Kaith for making a string of important saves after conceding a sloppy early goal, explaining: “He was really good. It was a difficult match for a goalkeeper because they were good in terms of attacking, they stole the ball and tried to run. Hugo Boumous and Ahmed Jahouh made nice passes to create chances.

“He was great at covering in the back of the defence, sometimes coming off his line to make clearances. He did a really good job.”

Mohun Bagan are going to get back to ISL action after the November international break when they host Jamshedpur FC at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata on 23 November.
