The 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) season is back with a bang, as Odisha FC and Chennaiyin FC take on one another in a game that sees the two playoffs qualifiers from last season battle it out for a perfect start to their ISL season.  Odisha FC have been in fine form since last season, and have transformed into a consistent performer in the league under the tutelage of Sergio Lobera

This season, despite not being very active in the transfer market, Odisha FC have assembled quite a talented squad, and with the addition of Hugo Boumous to their roster, they have brought back the partnership of Jahouh and Boumous, which will surely be a worrying factor for all ISL teams.

Chennaiyin FC on the other hand, have been perhaps one of the most active teams this summer, signing some of the biggest names in the league. Some of their statement signings include Wilmar Jordan Gill from Punjab FC, Elsinho from Jamshedpur, and Kiyan Nassiri from Mohun Bagan.

Despite qualifying for the playoffs last season, Owen Coyle decided to undergo a complete overhaul and has gotten the complete support of the club in fielding his desired team.

Both teams have quite a talented squad at their disposal, and even more experience on the touchline to guide them, and it will be quite interesting to see which out of the two teams comes out on top when they take on one another on the 14th of September, Saturday, at the Kalinga Stadium.
