The India senior women’s national team is set to face Russia in their second match of the Pink Ladies Cup 2025 at the Al Hamriya Sports Club Stadium, Sharjah, UAE, on Sunday, February 23, 2025. The match will kick off at 8:30 PM IST and will be streamed live in India.
The Blue Tigresses began their campaign with an impressive 2-0 victory against Jordan on February 20. Midfielder Naorem Priyangka Devi (23’) and winger Manisha (54’) found the net, giving India a solid start under new head coach Crispin Chettri. The match also saw the international debuts of Purnima Kumari, Nirmala Devi, and Babina Devi, as Chettri looks to build a balanced squad of emerging and experienced players.

India (ranked 69th in FIFA) faces a formidable opponent in Russia (ranked 27th), making this a challenging fixture. The two teams previously met in a 2021 friendly, where India ended up on the losing side. Grace Dangmei, who played in that match, acknowledges Russia as a physically and tactically strong opponent.
Despite the odds, Chettri’s side will be eager to build on their opening win and test themselves against higher-ranked opposition.
