The Ghanaian forward also had trial offers from English third-division sides.

In a significant move for an I-League club, 19-year-old Ghanaian forward Richardson Denzell has completed a transfer from Rajasthan United FC to Serbian 1st Division side FK Jedinstvo UB for an undisclosed transfer fee.

Denzell played a crucial role in Rajasthan United’s campaign last season. He had established himself as a dominant goalscorer in the second tier of Indian Football. With an impressive tally of 16 goals in just 21 appearances, the Ghanaian finished 2nd behind Alejandro Sanchez in the I-League Golden Boot race.

Denzell’s contributions were instrumental in ensuring Rajasthan United’s survival in the league as the team were in a critical spot of bother in between the season. His departure marks the end of a short but impactful tenure at the In Rajasthan club.

Rajasthan United FC took to social media to announce the forward’s departure, posting a heartfelt message that read, “Thank you Denzell From arriving as just a normal boy to becoming our club’s highest goal scorer in just one year – what an incredible journey.  As you move on to FK Jedinstvo (UB) on an undisclosed transfer fee, we’re proud of everything you’ve achieved. The sky’s the limit.”

The move to FK Jedinstvo UB is a massive step in Denzell’s career as he transitions to European football. This move is seen as proof of his potential, highlighted during his time in India. Denzell joins the elite list of players to have moved to European first divisions side from the I-League.

“Watching Denzell’s journey has been nothing short of incredible. He came to us as a young boy with dreams, and in just one year, he’s leaving as our top scorer, ready to take on the world. It’s bittersweet to see him go, but I couldn’t be prouder of the player and person he’s become”, said Mr Kamal the Chief Football Officer of Rajasthan United FC speaking exclusively with Khelnow reflecting upon the player’s journey.

Richardson Denzell was on the radar of many I-League and ISL Clubs

Sources tracking the development informed Khel Now that many I-League as well as ISL were vying to tie him down in their books and were even willing to pay the transfer fees but he wanted to move to Europe in a bid for a more celebrated playing career.

“Multiple I-League clubs and Mohammedan SC were willing to sign the player but he was waiting for a move to Europe. Denzell also had trial offers from League One clubs (Third tier of  English Football) but in the end, the player’s entourage had decided to move to Serbia,” the source informed.
