The SAFF U17 Championship 2025 is approaching its conclusion, but will it be a blockbuster conclusion? We will find that out soon. The semi-finals are upon us, with four teams vying for a spot in the final on September 27.

The Racecourse Stadium in Colombo has witnessed some thrilling and some dull fixtures over the course of the last few days, but now is the time for guaranteed entertainment. Bangladesh, Nepal, India, and Pakistan will be locking horns in the semi-finals after romping their way through the group stage.

India to take on Nepal

The toppers in Group B, India, will face Nepal in the second semi-final. The Blue Colts are on an unbeaten run with three consecutive victories in the group stage. They defeated the likes of Maldives, Bhutan, and arch-rivals Pakistan to confirm their place in the semi-final.

India are unbeaten, but the road has been bumpy for them. Bibiano’s team started the tournament with a 6-0 victory, but could not replicate that performance against Bhutan and Pakistan. A 1-0 win against Bhutan and a late victory against Pakistan have made fans wonder if India will be able to retain the title.

Nepal won’t be pushovers for the Blue Colts. They got battered by Bangladesh in their group stage fixture but have the ability to stun any opposition in this tournament on their day. India will have to stay on top of their game to confirm another final appearance in the SAFF U17 Championship.

Pakistan and Bangladesh set to clash

The first semi-final of the SAFF U17 Championship will see Pakistan and Bangladesh go full throttle against each other. Bangladesh have dominated their group with two comprehensive 4-0 results against Sri Lanka and Nepal.

Whereas Pakistan also have a similar goalscoring record. The only roadblock they encountered in the group stage was against India, as they went down 3-2 in a thriller. However, that performance was a statement from Pakistan that they are one of the best sides in the tournament. With both teams having incredible goal-scoring form, the first semi-final is expected to be a goal-fest.
