Meeting Between AIFF President and I-League Clubs Finalises Key Decisions for I-League 2024-25 Season

As per statements by I-League clubs, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) President, Shri Kalyan Chaubey, conducted an important virtual meeting with representatives of all I-League clubs to discuss the upcoming I-League 2024-25 season on 20th September 2024.

The session was marked by open discussions, providing a platform for clubs to voice their concerns and suggestions regarding the organisation of the league.

During the meeting, the following key decisions were finalised by President Choubey:

  • No Reduction in I-League Subsidy: The AIFF assured the clubs that there will be no reduction in the subsidy provided to I-League clubs for the 2024-25 season, addressing a major concern raised by several club representatives.
  • No Broadcast Costs for Clubs: It was confirmed that I-League clubs will not be required to bear any broadcast-related costs, relieving clubs of this financial burden.
  • Broadcast on SonyNetwork: It was finalised that the I-league 2024-25 matches would be broadcast live on Sony Network ensuring widespread coverage and greater visibility for the I-league. Sony Network has agreed to broadcast the matches on their channels free of cost.

The I-league clubs further requested that the fixtures of the I-league are announced at the earliest to allow the teams to make proper preparations for the season.

The I-League clubs expressed their gratitude to Shri Kalyan Choubey for addressing their concerns and for maintaining open communication. They believe that such transparent discussions will play a crucial role in ensuring the sustained growth and success of the I-League.

“We are thankful to President Chaubey for his time and attention to our concerns. His assurance on key matters gives us great confidence as we head into the new season. We look forward to continued collaboration with the AIFF to elevate the I-League,” stated Ranjit Bajaj on behalf of the I-League clubs. The clubs remain hopeful that with such collaborative efforts, the I-League will continue to grow and contribute significantly to Indian football.
