Subroto Cup is a great platform for young players to perform.

The 63rd edition of the prestigious Subroto Cup International Football Tournament is all set to kick off at Delhi’s historic Ambedkar Stadium on Monday, August 05, 2024, with a grand opening ceremony ahead of the match between Government High School, Kohima, Nagaland and Home Mission School, 1 BN Mizo NCC, Aizawl, in the Junior Girls (Under 17) category.

This year’s tournament promises to be most competitive, with a record 111 teams vying for top honours across the three categories of Junior Boys, Junior Girls and Sub-Junior Boys.

The opening ceremony will be graced by Air Marshal R.K. Anand VSM, Air Officer-in-Charge Administration & Vice Chairman SMSES, who will be the Chief Guest for the occasion. India’s woman football star Jyoti Chauhan, will be the Guest of Honour, which is sure to inspire the young girls taking part in the tournament.

A grand performance from the AWDT, an exhilarating para jump display by the Air Devils team of the Indian Air Force, and another cultural performance by students from the Air Force School will further captivate the audiences in the stadium.

A total of 34 teams divided into eight groups including teams from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be competing for honours in the Junior Girls category. The group winners from each group will qualify for the knockouts and the finals will be held on August 13th, 2024, at the Ambedkar Stadium.
