Calicut, Thrissur, Malappuram, and Kannur are the Final 4 in the Super League Kerala.

After two long months, the thirty group stage matches, the Super League Kerala 2025 is all set for its playoff matches. The top four teams, who have dominated the season so far, will face each other in a thrilling head-to-head showdown to be ultimately crowned the Champions of Kerala.

In this edition of the Super League Kerala, Calicut FC, Thrissur Magic FC, Malappuram FC and the Kannur Warriors FC rose above their counterparts to emerge as the top four and contend for the silverware. Here’s all you need to know about the Super League Kerala 2025 playoff matches.

Road to the Top Four

Calicut FC

Calicut FC, the defending champions and the table toppers after a rather disappointing start to the Super League Kerala 2025, came into full vigour after matchday three. from where they had an eight-game unbeaten streak, with a win in all their last six matches.

They were the first team to secure their place in the playoffs and have topped the Super League Kerala points table with 21 points, the highest ever in the league’s history.

Thrissur Magic FC

Thrissur Magic FC, the underdogs of this season, brushed away their disappointment of being at the bottom of the table last season with a stellar performance. After a losing start to the season, Thrissur got their breakthrough in their match against the defending champions, Calicut FC.

Ever since that match, the Magicians have been on red-hot form and bagged 14 points in their remaining 8 matches to become the second team to qualify for the semis.

Malappuram FC

Malappuram FC, one of the most decorated teams in the Super League Kerala, with a loyal fanbase, had an impressive run so far. Malappuram had a big headache throughout the season, conceding goals during critical moments, which led to them dropping points.

This led to them mutually parting ways with their head coach, Miguel Corral, in between the season. However, whenever it mattered the most, the Malabarians came into the pitch with hunger and intent to deliver a positive result.

Ahead of their final group stage match, Malappuram FC were placed at the 5th position and needed a positive result to qualify. After conceding two early goals, Malappuram fought with purpouse and struck back four goals to destroy Forca Kochi FC at home and secure the final playoff spot of the Super League Kerala.

Kannur Warriors FC

Kannur Warriors, along with Malappuram FC were the only teams to remain unbeaten in the Super League Kerala 2025 till the end of Round 6. The Warriors were the only team in the league so far to remain unbeaten in their away matches. With three wins, three losses and four draws, Kannur took the fourth spot in the Super League group table to qualify for the playoffs, becoming the first team to make back-to-back appearance in the playoffs under a same coach.

Semi-Final Matches of the Super League Kerala 2025

The Semi-Final 1 will be played at the Corporation Stadium, Thrissur between the second-placed Thrissur Magic FC and the third-placed Malappuram FC. The match will take place on the 7th December, Sunday and the kickoff is scheduled at 7:30 pm.

For the Semi-Final 2, the Super League Kerala action will shift to the EMS Corporation Stadium, Kozhikode. The table toppers Calicut FC will face the fourth placed Kannur Warriors for cruising into the finals. The match will take place on the 10th of December, Wednesday.

The winners of the Semi-Final 1 and the Semi-Final 2 will lock horns against each other in the mother of all battles for the Super League Kerala final, on the 14th December, Sunday. The match will kickoff at 7:30pm IST and will take place at the EMS Corporation Stadium, Calicut.

What happened when these teams faced last time in the Super League Kerala?

The last time Thrissur Magic FC faced off against Malappuram FC was on the 14th of November, where Thrissur Magic FC edged past Malappuram FC 2-1 in their first ever home game of the Super League Kerala history. The reverse fixture took place on the 3rd October at the Payyanad Stadium, where Malappuram defeated Thrissur with a narrow 1-0 margin to start the Super League Kerala 2025 season with a win.

When Calicut FC and Kannur Warriors locked horns against each other on the 28th November, it was Calicut who had the final laugh, defeating Kannur Warriors FC at their home with a score of 2-1. Their reverse fixture ended in a 1-1 stalemate with Arshaf and Asier Gomes registering their name in the scoresheets.
