Super League Kerala 2025: Updated points table, most goals after Thrissur Magic FC vs Kannur Warriors FC

Kannur Warriors have climbed to the third position in the Super League Kerala points table.

Kannur Warriors created an upset at the Corporation Stadium, Thrissur, to defeat the strong second-placed Thrissur Magic FC at their home turf 2-0 in the first matchday of the Round 10 fixtures of the Super League Kerala. With this win, the Warriors have climbed to third place and have reignited their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals.

The Warriors were ahead of the Magicians throughout the match as they kept attacking relentlessly to silence the hosts and the home crowd completely. However, luck did not favour them as everything looked great until it came to finishing, where they struggled.

All their attempts lacked proper weight, and whenever they found the right weight, the crossbar came as a block.

In the 43rd minute, Asier Gomes finally broke the deadlock, after tapping in the perfectly weighted assist from Sinan, providing the Warriors with a narrow lead ahead of the break. In the second half, the same story continued, as despite continued attacks, Kannur struggled to score.

In the 97th minute, Arjun fired a counterattack, which, after a brilliant team play, was scored by Ebindas, who put the game to bed in favour of the visiting side.

With this win, Kannur Warriors FC are back in the top four after a long gap. The Warriors have surpassed Malappuram and the Kombans to occupy the third position with 13 points and a goal difference of -2.

On the other hand, Thrissur Magic FC remained in second place at the end of their group stage fixtures and will face the third-placed team in semi-final 1.

Calicut FC secured their position at the top of the table and will face the fourth-placed side in semi-final 2. Thiruvananthapuram Kombans FC and Malappuram FC have dropped one position each and are currently placed in 4th and 5th positions, respectively, with one match remaining.

Forca Kochi, with just three points from their nine matches, are at the bottom and are out of the Super League Kerala playoffs race.

A win is the only option available for Malappuram FC to qualify for the semi-finals, while a draw would suffice for Kombans. Kannur must hope for Malappuram to draw or lose the match, or Kombans to fall short of Calicut FC in their final game to qualify for the semi-finals.
