Sunil Chhetri will be making his 150th appearance for the Indian football team today.

The Indian football team is gearing up to host Afghanistan in the Matchday 4 of the Round 2 of the FIFA World Cup 2026/AFC Asian Cup 2027 joint qualifiers at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati. The game will be of utmost importance for India and their aspirations for making it to the Round 3 of the joint qualifiers for the first time.

However, things have not gone in a way that Blue Tigers hoped before the start of the international break as Igor Stimac’s men were unable to break the deadlock and register the win in their previous outing against the Lions of Khorasan last week.
